Kickstarter Campaign Launched for Plot of the Druid

Think a mix of Monkey Island, Simon the Sorcerer and Monty Python!

A Kickstarter campaign has been launched for the upcoming point & click adventure game Plot of the Druid.

You can find the campaign here:

Actually, at the time of writing this, the campaign has been live for almost 48 hours and already has nearly 50% of the funding required to bring the game to life.

The Prologue

I played the game’s prologue chapter on my YouTube channel a few months ago. You can view that below if you want to see it in action:

The first thing to strike me when playing the prologue was the fantastic hand-drawn art style.

It’s very reminiscent of the adventure games I grew up playing in the 90s and has a wonderful charm that drew me into being completely immersed in the game’s environments.

There’s also a fantastic sense of humour throughout the story and character dialogue. Sarcasm runs rife in a way that reminds me of Monty Python sketches.

And there’s plenty of references to classic adventure games such as Monkey Island and Simon the Sorcerer to name just two.

This isn’t a review though, so I’ll let you discover more by playing the prologue yourself, or by watching my video.

Kickstarter Rewards

If you’ve backed Kickstarter projects before, you’ll know there are rewards available in exchange for your backing.

And Plot of the Druid has some really fantastic rewards on offer, from Digital Keys of the game when it releases, getting your name in the credits, all the way up to merchandise and getting your portrait in the game.

It seems there’s something for everyone here so it’s worth having a look to see which one appeals to you.

I actually backed this about an hour after the campaign went live, so don’t forget to look out for my name in those credits, and there’s even a quote from my video of the prologue on the campaign page itself.

The point & click geek in me freaked out a little over that, I won’t lie!

Campaign Details

The Kickstarter campaign will be live until July 22 so you’ve got about 28 days to take a look at it and decide if it’s for you.

But if you’re a fan of Simon the Sorcerer, Monkey Island, or just a game that’ll give you a good dose of nostalgia and remind you of the old days playing adventure games, it’s worth checking out at the very least.

Speak soon guys!
